Cryptokitties, a popular project in the blockchain industry in recent years, has been loved and participated in by fans from all over the world since its establishment, with everyone wanting to own a unique and adorable cat in Cryptokitties.

Cryptokitties has been so popular that its smart contracts have been the most active on Ethereum every year since its launch. In 2019, there were over 2 million on-chain transactions, more than any other consumer-oriented Dapp.

Recently, as the new decentralized concepts such as DeFi and Uniswap surged, Cryptokitties introduced their latest project - Flow, an open world blockchain. With a vision of being more secure, more intelligent, and more user-friendly, Flow stands out in the current blockchain world, approaching users with a fresh and friendly approach to become the best companion for users in the blockchain world.

Flow, defined as the "open world blockchain," aims to be the foundation for the next generation of games, applications, and digital assets. Its unique multi-node architecture is designed to achieve scalability without sharding, significantly increasing speed and throughput while maintaining a developer-friendly and ACID-compliant development environment.

Flow serves as a foundational architecture aiming to contribute its strength to the blockchain world in a simpler, faster, and more user-friendly manner. It empowers various applications like building on exchanges, wallets, and even in physical businesses to serve enterprise users.

To achieve these goals, Flow focuses on four key features: multi-role architecture, resource-oriented programming, developer ergonomics, and consumer onboarding. Flow provides a stable, secure, and reliable underlying application platform for both B2B and B2C users in a simple, fast, and user-friendly manner.

Flow is also popular among developers, with hundreds of loyal developers on platforms like Discord, recognizing Flow's development concepts and technology.

Both Cryptokitties and Flow are developed by Dapper Labs, which has continuously pushed the boundaries in the real world with its innovative concepts. In 2017, Dapper Labs introduced the concept of NFT through the unique representation of assets using Cryptokitties' image. Initially conceived by AxiomZen, the idea for Cryptokitties predates even the mainstream adoption of digital currencies like Bitcoin.

With the huge impact of Cryptokitties and NFT in the cryptocurrency sector and other fields like music and art, Dapper Lab decided to focus its efforts on developing blockchain infrastructure and killer app development. As a result, the team grew from a few people to 100 full-time employees and became one of the largest and most dedicated independent teams focusing on blockchain development and dApps globally.

In fact, Flow was almost born at the same time as Cryptokitties. Shortly after launching Cryptokitties, the team realized the need to build its own underlying platform to address extreme situations like network failures and congestion, as they wanted complete control to conduct timely debugging and iteration.

Two months after the establishment of Dapper Lab, they applied for a temporary patent in May 2018, laid the foundation for Flow, and conducted extensive research and preparation through collaboration with industry partners and developers from gaming, entertainment, and technology sectors.

Flow's primary focus was to address speed, throughput, and cost, as well as usability and user accessibility. By creating a more user-friendly blockchain game and improving user experience, Dapper Lab aims for mass adoption.

Described as "blockchain 4.0" by prominent blockchain media Coindesk, Flow has already partnered with globally recognized brands like Samsung, NBA, and Warner Music Group.

Flow's recent collaboration with the NBA for the TopShot game is a significant breakthrough in the world of blockchain gaming. In just 10 days after the launch of Flow Playground, nearly 400 developers created over 500 projects, shaping Flow into a fast game and application development platform for developers worldwide using Flow's unique programming language, Cadance.
